According to March issue of Kodansha's monthly Afternoon magazine, Genshiken Nidaime, a follow up manga series to Genshiken written by Kio Shimoku will finally be adapted to anime. The series follows a group of college students who formed a club called "The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture". The title has been a short name from the initials of the club in Japanese which is Gendai Shikaku Bunka Kenkyūkai.
These group of students shared common interest of anime, manga, and video games. In short they are otaku or geeks by definition. There has been no exact date of release and staffs working on the project but rest assured that it will roll out in future date. What's intriguing about though if it will be a TV Series or just an OVA.
An anime has been aired abroad based from the original manga "Genshiken". As a matter of fact, a couple of videos has been floating around in YouTube without being removed by Google.
Genshiken Nidaime is a continuation of the Genshiken series which is the 10th volume of the publication.
